#NOTagsWithoutPermission: A campaign to request social networks to modify their policy regarding tags on pictures


Who hasn’t ever been bothered about being tagged on a social network without permission?

Yesterday, during his talk at the International Meeting ESSE-Digital World, the director of FriendlyScreens Jorge Flores Follow Mr. Flores on Twitter presented the official launch of a multi-lingual campaign ​​(Spanish, English and Portuguese) seeking public support to convince the companies responsible of social networks to request permission before tagging others on the pictures.

NOTagsWithoutPermission.com, the main website of the campaign, explains what the challenge, objectives and specific demands are. This demands are fruit of an analysis of the problems that current tag policy causes, a situation that affects the privacy of large numbers of users around the world.

Starting today, FriendlyScreens begins an intensive outreach of this campaign to promote an active cybercitizen participation and to make social networks facilitate the defense of the right to privacy.
